Nakagin

Nakagin Capsule Tower designed by Kisho Kurokawa and built in 1972 is perhaps the most most remarkable and widely known remaining example of architectural Metabolism, unique Japanese post-war movement taking hints from biology, modernism and futurism. The building is currently facing physical decay und uncertain feature since the plug-in cell system proved to be unsustainable and, to a degree, unmaintainable. After arriving to Japan, similar to many other local and foreign visitors, I felt urgency to experience and document the building before it's too late.
